About me
As a young girl my parents gave me a bucket and spade and sent me out to search the seabed. Under each rock I discovered a new world, and I decided then that I wanted to capture them with a camera.
I’m still turning over rocks. Photography is often how I first meet a place; writing and film are where the story unfolds. They’re three tools with one instinct behind them: stay curious, ask one more question and see where it leads.
Since 2014, that instinct has kept drawing me back to Egypt. Over many visits it has grown into an ongoing and evolving body of work, made alongside the craftspeople, communities, archaeologists and researchers who have been generous enough to share what they know.
That work is now coming together as Decoding Egypt. More soon.
